Question 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Mac	This is used to create everything; this was the device to make everything possible.	For me it was used to hold all the software required and this was my workstation which everything to do with the whole coursework was used to be done on.	I had some minor technical errors such as thing haven’t saved, it wont start etc.	It was fixed by just restarting the system mainly.	That the mac was the most important tool that I had because without it none of this would have been possible.
DSLR camera – Canon 1000D	This takes high quality images.	To take all of my images.	Sometimes it wouldn’t give off the best type of images with bad lighting, unneeded flash etc.	It was fixed by simply having to take the images again.	This was important to get the best quality image but it took a lot of time to get the correct photo.
Photoshop	This is a image editing software.	I used this to create the whole magazine, double page spread and contents page on.	Sometimes things went wrong like the programme kept crashing or when I went from one computer to another it would not work the same.	It was fixed by just going a step back and having to start again.	This was a highly important piece of equipment in the process of my coursework but if something went wrong it was hard to fix.
Indesign	This is another piece of software but more for evidencing work.	I used this very little on my music magazine only really used on the college magazine.	Nothing really went wrong on this as I used it as little as I did.	There was no need for solutions.	This was not much use in the project.
Blogger	This is an online app to display all of my work.	This was again one of the most important parts in the whole project as it was used heavily to document every piece that I had done.	Sometimes some of the work I saved instead of published so it did not display which was not good.	I just had to fix by selecting publish.	This is one of the most important features in the task, as it is needed to document every little detail.
PowerPoint	This is a presentation software.	I used it only really in my evaluation to present some pieces of work in a comparison task.	I did not really have any problems with this.	None as I had no problems.	This is a good simple presenting software. Also it is very reliable.
Survey Monkey	This is some software that other people responded to my questions.	I used this to get peoples opinions on music magazines.	The only problem I faced was to get people to answer.	This was resolved by putting the link onto my social medias so people could answer.	This was good for audience research.
Tripod	This is used to hold the camera on for a steady image.	I did not use this equipment.	None as I did not use.	None as I did not use.	None as I did not use.
Lighting	This is for when taking the image it has to be right to get the best photo.	I used to get the best photo on my model.	It was very had to get good lighting.	I just had to keep taking images to get the best one.	This is important for a good photo.
iShowu	This is a screen capture application.	I used to record my magazine and talk over and analyse.	It sometimes corrupted so I had to start again which was irritating.	I just had to start again when it went wrong.	This is a helpful tool.
iPhoto or image capture	This is where your photos are saved on mac.	I used to upload all of my images after being taken on the SLR camera.	None, this was a very reliable software.	None.	This is a good piece of software to store all of your images.
Prezi	This is a presentation software.	I used in my evaluation.	It took me a while to get used to as I have never used it before.	I just had to keep on practising until I got it correct and knew what I was doing.	This is an advanced more professional looking presentation software.
Social media	This is a personal thing online, which I can use.	I used to get people to answer my survey monkey.	None.	None.	This is a good thing.
Excel/Word	These are Microsoft products, which do different thing such as excel is for numbers, and word is for publishing.	I used word to publish pieces but I did not use excel.	None.	None.	They where not too important in the task.

Evaluation - Question 5

In this task, my aim was to see if my target audience would like my magazine, and I believe from the results I got they do. They said that they liked the colour scheme which to me was important because I wanted it to give off the indie look as from having spoken to my audience I believe this was achieved. So on this basis I believe my audience is attracted.

Evaluation - Question 4

In this I spoke about my target audience and I believe that in this project my target audience is key to success so I designed my magazine off what my audience want. My target audience is indeed fans of Indie music that are young to middle aged and are very found of their music and bands, they like to go to gigs and like specific artists. So I used this to create my magazine by including a gigs list in my contents page so this will attract to them, also my target audience will be very similar to Q so like i spoke about earlier this is why I used them as inspiration.  The next way I used my target audience was my model, his look was very important so I made sure that the clothes he worn was very plain as from research, most indie musicians have plain attires so I used this as inspiration to attract my target audience. So as you can see I used multiple methods to make sure that my magazine was suited to my audience. This I believe was very important in the task.

Evaluation: Question 2 - How does your media product represent particular social groups

Question 2 evaluation from Joshua Clegg
This was me comparing how I represented social groups and I compared my model with similarities and differences. I think overall I wanted my model like this because, as you can see him next to Alex Turner who is mainly associated with Indie music so because of Alex's association I went to try and replicate this with my model. Also with my target audience being indie fans and most will like Alex Turner, if i replace him then my target audience (young indie fans) will appreciate my magazine.

Evaluation - Question 1

Question 1 and you can see it being edited on iMovie. In this task I spoke about who I got inspiration from my magazine from, how I get the inspiration and in what ways sis I use, and then how I changed it so that it was not like copying the inspiration. My main inspiration was indeed Q simply because they are one of the largest indie magazines going so I decided at the start that this is what I will base mine on and I spoke about what I used. I believe the most influenced by Q for me in this was my mast head. I decided to do it how it was so that it was similar because when you see Q magazine you instantly associate with indie so this is the reaction I wanted ultimately on mine and I believe I got that. So this is my inspiration.
